Tenacious D
A poem I wrote this morning about how my 17 yr old daughter with type 1 diabetes starts every single day since she was 2.
Wake up. Stab again. Blood drop. Suck it in.
Calibrate. Amazed at what I see. Numbers. Why do they disagree?
Do not dwell. Estimate. First bolus of the day. Watch for the bend and wait.
Finally! So hungry she is. My child with type 1 diabetes. Tenacious.
